Health and Hope for Tomorrow

Since 1958, Project HOPE has worked to make health care available for people around the globe – especially children. It’s in our name: Health Opportunities for People Everywhere. From the beginning, when we sent medical volunteers onboard the world’s first peacetime Hospital Ship, the SS HOPE, to our land-based programs today, Project HOPE has been committed to long-term sustainable health care. Our work includes educating health professionals and community health workers, strengthening health facilities, fighting diseases such as TB, HIV/AIDS and diabetes and providing humanitarian assistance through donated medicines and supplies and volunteer medical help.

HOPE Responds to Global Health Care Worker Crisis Millions of lives are in jeopardy because of a critical worldwide shortage of health care workers.In Africa for instance, barely 1% of the world’s health workers have responsibility for combating 25% of the global disease burden. Today, Project HOPE is racing to meet the growing global need for more doctors, nurses, and community health care workers through our pioneering “healing while teaching” strategy that has already provided training to more than 2 million health care workers around the world.  READ MORE
