Partnerships : International Partners
Project HOPE initiates programs at the request and in collaboration with host countries, and designs them to be responsive to local needs and priorities. In the planning and implementation of programs, HOPE creates partnerships that build capacity in local organizations, including Ministries of Health, NGOs, universities, health centers, health departments, communities, and families in both rural and urban settings. Local counterparts work with HOPE to plan and implement activities appropriately and effectively to address critical health needs and to facilitate long-term sustainability.

Since its establishment in the 16th century, Vilnius University – the oldest and largest Lithuanian higher education institution – has embodied the concept of a classical university and the unity of studies and research. Vilnius University is an active participant in international scientific and academic activities and boasts many prominent scientists, professors and graduates. Scientific development and the expanding relations with global research centers have contributed to the variety of research and studies at Vilnius University.
Vilnius University offers undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies in humanities, social sciences, physical sciences, biomedicine and technologies. Studies in the fields of law, medicine and odontology embrace both undergraduate and graduate studies. The residence – postgraduate - studies enable the medicine and odontology graduates to acquire a higher qualification of a specialized medical doctor.
Kaunas University of Medicine is the largest institution of medical education and training in Lithuania. It is an autonomous university type medical institution financed by the State with five faculties: the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Stomatology, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Nursing, and the Faculty of Public Health.
Kaunas University Hospital and four research institutes (Biomedical Research, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Psyhophysiology and Rehabilitation) complete the structure of the University. Teaching staff of Kaunas University of Medicine consists of 600 instructors and research workers, including 74 professors and 278 associate professors.

Mykolas Romeris University is the third largest university in Lithuania, with over 16,000 students in 2006/2007. In 2002, Mykolas Romeris University became the first in the country to receive a full international accreditation of law programs. International accreditation was also awarded to the Public Management programs in 2004. Presently over 80% of study programs have international accreditation. On 16 September 2003, the University joined the ranks of signatories of Magna Charta Universitatum.
The University has Institutes of Public Administration, Forensic Medicine, Francophone countries Study Center, Study Centre of Central and Eastern Europe, Swiss, German and Austrian Study Center, American Study Center have been successfully developing and contributing to the research and study activities of the University.
