Village Health Banks - Project HOPE’s VHB program in Guatemala promotes better health, more secure livelihoods, and an overall better quality of life for impoverished women and their families in the Department of San Marcos, Guatemala. This program now serves more than 3,000 women and their families in a sustainable manner.

Project HOPE responds to the earthquake with needed humanitarian assistance, and stays in the country building the Ministry of Health capacity |

Project HOPE shifts from building the technical capacity of Ministry of Health staff to helping improve the direct care given to rural populations. |

Project HOPE initiates a Child Survival program in the Boca Costa region to improve care provided to residents and migrant workers. |

Project HOPE begins a Village Health Bank program in the San Marcos region to strengthen the services offered to women in the region. |

Project HOPE starts work with the ILO to provide health education as part of the Child Labor Eradication effort in the Boca Costa region. |

Project HOPE helps establish the ProRedes Salud project to improve the capacity of local networks of health oriented NGOs; new agreement is signed to extend Child Survival activities and expand into new areas of Boca Costa region |
